COMPANY DATA Foundation year: 1948 Location: Omegna (VB) ?V North/West Italy Share capital: ?? 1.7 million - 6 shareholders Personnel: 110 Consolidated turnover: ?? 19,2 million MANUFACTURING PLANT Total surface 26.000 m2 - covered area 12.000 m2 Production capacity 10.000 t/year Castings weight: from 0,015 kg to 22 kg - Max dimension: 400x340x300 mm The SHELL MOULDING PROCESS consists in casting liquid metal inside shells with possible internal cores, both formed with sands treated and coated with thermosetting resins. FEATURES - lack of reactions between metal and sand during the pouring - shell permeability removes the risk of internal blowholes - metal structure is very fine thanks to the fast cooling - precision castings with strict dimensional tolerance: CT6- CT7 (ISO 8062) - uniform surfaces with roughness Ra 6,3 - controlled minimum thickness - complex internal shape - machining allowance 1-1,5 mm - draft angle from 0,5?X to 1?X FACILITIES - hot moulding for shells and cores making with sands coated with thermosetting resins - gluing, finishing and painting of the cores for an improved quality of the castings - electrical medium-frequency furnaces with three automatic and semiautomatic pouring lines - automatic machines and plants for the finishing of the casted parts - plant for coated sands reclaiming and coating MARKETS - Hydraulic - Pneumatic 40% - Automotive - Mechanical 35% - Textile 10% - Other 15% MATERIALS Cast Irons: Vermicular ?V Grey ?V Nodular ?V ADI Steels: Structural - Stainless R&D Perucchini constantly performs tests on different materials aimed at their evolution. Tests are carried out with a dedicated furnace and a specific pouring line. R&D constantly supports production for the continuous improvement of process standards. The study of complex cores allows obtaining highly technological castings. The toolings, in cast iron or steel, owned by the customer, are designed internally. Perucchini regularly co-designs with customers. So as to produce "tailor made" components that fully meet market needs. POURING SIMULATION Perucchini is equipped with an advanced software for the pouring simulation allowing: - filling simulation and solidification of castings - reduction of components industrialisation time - lower costs and higher quality Perucchini??s high QUALITY is widely acknowledged anywhere. Quality control guarantees dimensional tolerances, integrity and mechanical characteristics of castings. The company is UNI EN ISO 9001-2000 certified and the ISO TS certification will be obtained by September 2009. New Castings in Co-design
