Analytical Inspection System Suitable for Fine-Pitch Gears
The 300GMS analytical gear inspection system from Gleason enables faster complete inspection of smaller gears such as those used in automotive and aerospace applications, as well as gear-cutting tools and non-gear parts. The measurement system offers features such as surface-finish measurement and prismatic feature measurement, and is equipped with a Renishaw 3D scanning probe head for accuracy and flexibility in inspecting gears and tools, especially finer-pitch gears.
The inspection system is equipped with the Windows 7-based Gleason Gama 3.0 applications software suite, which offers an intuitive user interface and simple input screens for programming workpieces and cutting tool data. The software suite also includes tutorial information on gear features with text, pictures and videos that can be edited by the user. These features combined with easy setup, a remote I/O control system and improved movement optimization are said to reduce cycle times for inspection of almost any gear or gear tool.
The system’s ergonomically mounted operator workstation and advanced operator interface are designed to improve the operator’s effectiveness. The interface offers video telephony, note pad and voicemail messaging capability. An environmental monitoring station records temperature and humidity. Gleason Connect provides enhanced remote diagnostic support and enables the creation of standard work instructions, online training tools, multilingual communication and more.
